Where is Washburn?
Washburn is located on the south shore of Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin and is considered one of the gateway cities to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. It shares its magnificent Chequamegon Bay setting with Ashland, about nine miles away, and Bayfield, about 15 miles away.

Do folks up there like movies?
You betcha. The Bay Area Film Society - the sponsor of this festival - has been around for over a dozen years. We've shown hundreds of films over the years to thousands of movie-goers.

What does the $10 application fee go to?
It will help defer the expense of hosting a film festival.

When do you decide?
Our devoted committee will be sitting indoors watching your films as thery arrive. We should know who is in by September 15.

What's it like up there in November?
Late Fall can be beautiful here. You can take a break from filmwatching and walk along the shore of Lake Superior. And if it's a little chilly, so much the better for sitting inside a cozy theater with a hot drink!
