About the Bay Area Film Society

The Bay Area Film Society was founded in the winter of 1997 by a small group of film lovers desperate for more films. We kicked off with The Full Monty at the local historical society on a snowy February night, not knowing if anyone would show. We sold out. We’ve been showing films ever since.

For our 2022-2023 season, we will be screening films at the Bay Theater in Ashland. We show one to two films per month from September through April. Please consider supporting our all-volunteer group and our mission to bring great cinema to the Bay area through purchasing individual, family, or gift memberships or through business and individual sponsorships.
